A few months ago my lady and I had an argument on the way to Saturday breaky.
Driving down to Bondi, I found myself growing more and more moody as a parking spot — any parking spot — eluded us. In a fit of childish agitation I blew my top and told B that I was going home.
The guilt began to creep up and over me as soon as I left her on that busy sidewalk. As my emotions pulled me from self-loathing to desolation, the event forced me to look in the mirror.
It helped me to savour all the special times we’d enjoyed beautiful breakfasts together. All those sunny mornings spent with company I genuinely savoured and had now taken for granted.
We can all be more mindful when life doesn’t go our way.
We all deserve a second chance.
