Me, Myself & I

As my little sister approaches the end of her mandatory hours, she’s been thinking long and hard about the upcoming driving test.

Doing my best to calm her fears, I found my thoughts drifting back to that first year behind the wheel.

In an instant I was reminded of the excessive dread and anxiety that racked my teenage self. The fear of failure never far from my mind.

That anxious dread made it so hard to be present. To savour the joys of youth.

We owe it to ourselves to look in the mirror and untangle our own knots.

We have all the answers we’ll ever need.
